“The beauty of life is in sharing life.”
Social Action
The Brothers of the Chi Tau Tau chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. are keen in the field of uplifting our community. Regardless of the age, we rarely pass on an opportunity to serve members of our community. We find it very important to be an inspiration to the youth, for we may be their only hope when they are on the verge on losing it. Countless times throughout the year we’ve given campus tours and went down to the Boys and Girls Club to mentor and simply spend time with the children. Also, we made it a goal to collect supplies and funds to supply children in with backpacks for the upcoming school year.
Voter Registration
We understand that officer elections within our community are very important because they make decisions that affect the community directly. Several of our brothers assisted with informing people on candidate options as well as registering unregistered members of the community to vote.
International Health Initiative
During the month of July 2020, we hosted “Fighting Trim Friday’s.” Keeping in mind that access to public gyms is either limited or unavailable, the intent of Fighting Trim Friday’s was to jumpstart or maintain physical activity. Every Friday in the month of July, a workout video featuring different brothers participating in various exercises pertaining to the muscle group of the week was shared on the chapter’s social media outlets. Both events had great success as well as positive feedback. We hope to make this an annual summer event and keep people active.
2023 Miss Omega Psi Phi Scholarship Pageant
The brothers of the Chi Tau Tau Chapter were fortunate enough to host a Miss Omega Psi Phi scholarship pageant. The pageant took place on April 9th, 2023 with five (5) contestants. These ladies participated and were judged on several categories including formal wear, swimwear, talent showcase, and a questionnaire. Scoring the highest in each category resulted in the crowning of Miss Omega Psi Phi; complimented with a scholarship award of $1,000. The first and second runner up; formerly known as Miss Chi Tau Tau and Miss Purple and Gold, received scholarships awards of $500 and $250. We as a chapter found it heartwarming to provide scholarship funding for three amazing ladies to further their education at the University of Central Florida. Now an annual event, we are excited for pageant season to circle around again!
